Egg yolk is an emulsion of liquified fat and a SOLUTION (liquid) of dissolved albumin protein in water, and thus is a combination of liquids, per the definition of emulsion (and suspension for that matter):

"A suspension of small globules of one liquid in a second liquid with which the first will not mix"

It is a liquid and nary a solid UNLESS you precipitate the albumin and freeze the fat. Water would remain in either case.</description>
