Don’t be fooled by false representations of shaven Lincoln. He had a beard when he delivered the Gettysburg Address. He had a beard when he announced the Emancipation Proclamation. He grew up in a log cabin fer chrissakes. Look… we all know Jesus Christ was a well built white man with a very neatly trimmed beard. Why? That’s the way it is in all his photos. So it is with Lincoln. If you wanna spend Halloween explaining why you don’t have a beard, referring to a few oil renderings of the man done right after Mary Todd forced him to shave that manly, manly chinstrap as a part of one of her laudanum fits- go without the beard.
